Q. What is the Notice of First Appearance from the Court in a NH divorce?

A.   Attendance at the first session is ordered by the Court, you are required to appear. A Judge or Marital Master will conduct the session. The purpose is to familiarize you with the court process, to get you to feel a little more comfortable with the setting, explain options to resolve your divorce, and to schedule the next court event.

The sessions vary in duration but plan on spending up to two hours. Courts do not have childcare. You should register for a Child Impact Seminar prior to the hearing date.
Attorney attendance is optional for this First Appearance. This is the only hearing throughout the divorce process that Attorney Richard E. Clark does not attend with clients.
