A. Attendance
at the first session is ordered by the Court, you are required to appear. A
Judge or Marital Master will conduct the session. The purpose is to familiarize
you with the court process, to get you to feel a little more comfortable with
the setting, explain options to resolve your divorce, and to schedule the next
court event.
The
sessions vary in duration but plan on spending up to two hours. Courts do not
have childcare. You should register for a Child Impact Seminar prior to the
hearing date.
Attorney attendance
is optional for this First Appearance. This is the only hearing throughout the
divorce process that Attorney Richard E. Clark does not attend with clients.
